Our collection of Pride cards and
are inspired by vintage protest art. A nod to the 1960's & 70's, when gay rights began to enter the mainstream consciousness of the world.
Our brick & mortar shop is on historic Christopher Street, just steps away from the legendary Stonewall Inn, which in 1969 became the location of the Stonewall Riots. Those events are considered to be the most important events leading to gay liberation and set off the official movement for equal LGBTQIA+ rights.
Our current location at 15 Christopher Street was home to the
Oscar Wilde Memorial Bookshop
, the first gay & lesbian bookshop on the East Coast (and one of the first in the country.) It was open from 1973 until 2009. We are honored to operate in this location today and we keep the memory of
and the OWMB alive with a memorial plaque inside our doors.
-flat card, 3.475" x 4.875″
