Pulled from a map dated 1938, these cartoon images depict a New York City at the end of the depression and on the verge of greatness. New Yorkers were choosing between Macy's or Gimbels Department Store, The World's Fair was about to introduce the city to the future, Rockefeller Center was being built and men were gearing up to become future Don Drapers.
